Job summary

DARCARS Collision Center of Baltimore is seeking an Auto Body Shop Estimator to inspect and appraise vehicles, determine repair costs, and handle insurance claims. You will work directly with customers and insurers to ensure a seamless repair process and excellent service.

Responsibilities include examining damages, estimating costs, calculating payments, managing claims, and preparing invoices. A background in auto estimating and I-CAR training is preferred, with opportunities for growth within

Qualifications

• 3+ years of auto estimator experience
• Knowledge of major insurance program protocols and ability to upload estimates/images to meet standards
• Prior estimator experience preferred
• I-CAR or other industry training history
• Automotive certifications a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18+ and have a valid Driver’s License
• Must pass pre-employment background screening

• Estimate repair costs including supplies, parts, and labor
• Calculate customer payments including deductibles for repaired items
• Manage claim process by obtaining estimates from insurers and reviewing with adjuster
• Explain estimate and expected return of vehicle to customers
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks
• Conduct spot checks of each completed job for thoroughness and quality
• Prepare final invoices matching approved estimates

As aAuto Body Shop Estimator you willinspect and appraise customer’s vehicles to determine cost of repairs for damages that will be billed as an insurance claim or customer expense.This role will alsoinclude working directly with customers and/or insurance companies to ensure a seamless repair process while providing excellent customer service.

In this role, you will:

• Examine damage to customervehicles to locate structural, body, mechanical or interior damages

• Reconcile and prepare final invoices matching approved estimates

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 3+ years of previous automotive estimatorexperience
• Knowledge of major insurance program protocols and have theability to upload estimates/images that meet those standards accordingly
• Prior experience as an estimator highly preferred
• I-Car or other industry training history
• Automotive certifications a plus
• High school degree or equivalent
• Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screen(background)
