Job summary

The Painter Helper assists in the refinishing of damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership quality specifications and time standards. The role supports body shop operations, prepares surfaces, mixes paints, and applies coatings while maintaining safety protocols in a busy automotive shop.

Responsibilities include inspecting painted units, communicating with service staff, and ensuring cleanliness and organization of the work area.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; 6 months related experience or equivalent
• Associate's degree preferred; ASE certification preferred
• Able to wear PPE and follow safety guidelines while performing refinishing tasks

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and mark areas for dent repair, body work, refinishing, buffing and painting
• Mix paints according to manufacturer specifications and color matching
• Prepare surfaces, mask areas, and apply coatings
• Inspect finished work for runs, sags, and unpainted areas; ensure quality before approval
