Job summary

CSN Collision in Scarborough, ME is seeking a skilled Auto Body Prepper/Painter to prep vehicles for painting, including sanding, priming and masking, with potential advancement within the paint department. You will sand surfaces, apply masking tape, prepare surfaces for paint, assist with mixing paints and primers, operate and maintain equipment, and work with the team to ensure high-quality, timely work.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as Auto Body Prepper/Painter or similar role.
• Knowledge of sanding and masking techniques.
• Familiarity with automotive paints, primers, and painting equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
• Valid driver's license and high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Sand the vehicle surfaces using sandpaper, grinders, or other tools to create a smooth surface for painting
• Apply masking tape and paper to protect areas of the vehicle that will not be painted
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer
• Ensure proper adhesion of paint by removing dirt, debris, and imperfections from the surfaces
• Assist with mixing paint and primers according to manufacturer specifications
• Assist with operating and maintaining painting equipment and tools
• Collaborate with the painting team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality work
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
