Job summary

CSN Collision is seeking a skilled Auto Body Prepper/Painter to prepare vehicles for painting, including sanding, priming and masking, with potential growth within the paint department. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team, as well as the capability to work independently.

The position offers supplemental pay and benefits, with experience in automotive paints and masking techniques as a strong asset, and a valid driver’s license is required to operate

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as Auto Body Prepper/Painter or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of sanding and masking techniques.
• Familiarity with automotive paints, primers, and painting equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sand vehicle surfaces to create a smooth painting surface.
• Apply masking tape and paper to protect areas not being painted.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding and priming.
• Ensure paint adheres properly by removing dirt and debris.
• Assist with mixing paint and primers per manufacturer specs.
• Operate and maintain painting equipment and tools.
• Collaborate with painting team for efficient workflow and high-quality work.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Position Summary:

CSN Collision is currently hiring a skilled and meticulous Auto Body Prepper/ Painter to become a valued member of our team. The primary duties of the Auto Body Prepper involve preparing vehicles for the painting process, which includes tasks such as sanding, priming, and masking. This role also offers the potential for advancement within our paint department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sand the vehicle surfaces using sandpaper, grinders, or other tools to create a smooth surface for painting
• Apply masking tape and paper to protect areas of the vehicle that will not be painted
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer
• Ensure proper adhesion of paint by removing dirt, debris, and imperfections from the surfaces
• Assist with mixing paint and primers according to manufacturer specifications
• Assist with operating and maintaining painting equipment and tools
• Collaborate with the painting team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality work
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
