Job summary

DARCARS Collision of Fairfax is hiring an Auto Body Shop Estimator to inspect and appraise vehicles to determine repair costs for insurance claims or customer expenses. You will work with customers and insurers to ensure a seamless repair process and excellent service.

Responsibilities include examining damage, estimating costs, handling deductibles, managing claims, and preparing invoices. The role requires 3+ years of estimator experience, I-CAR training, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive estimator experience.
• Knowledge of major insurance program protocols and ability to upload estimates/images.
• Prior estimator experience preferred.
• I-CAR or other industry training history.
• Automotive certifications a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Must pass pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Examine damage to vehicles to locate structural, body, mechanical or interior damages.
• Estimate repair costs including supplies, parts, and labor.
• Calculate customer payments including deductibles for repaired items.
• Manage claim process with insurance companies and adjusters.
• Explain estimates and expected return of vehicles to customers.
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks.
• Conduct spot checks for thoroughness and quality on completed work.
• Prepare final invoices matching approved estimates.
