Job summary

Sedgwick's Claims Examiner, Auto | Bodily Injury role analyzes and processes complex auto and commercial transportation bodily injury claims by reviewing coverage, investigating liability, and evaluating damages to reach timely, fair resolutions.

The ideal candidate will have five years of claims management experience (or equivalent) with knowledge of auto policies and licensing requirements, and strong written/oral communication.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of claims management experience or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Strong oral and written communication and PC literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Secure and maintain state adjusting licenses as required for the position

Responsibilities

• Processes complex auto (commercial and personal line) claims, including bodily injury, and ensures files are documented and coded properly
• Responsible for the litigation process on litigated claims
• Coordinates vendor management, including independent adjusters for investigations
• Reports large claims to excess carriers
• Develops and maintains action plans to meet state deadlines and move files toward resolution
• Identifies and pursues subrogation and risk transfer opportunities; secures and disposes of salvage
• Communicates claim action/processing with insured, client, and broker as appropriate
• Performs other duties as assigned; supports the organization's quality programs
