Job summary

Progressive is seeking an insurance defense attorney for a hybrid role within our commercial auto and bodily injury unit. You will represent Progressive insureds and/or Progressive Insurance Companies in court and arbitration, handling cases from start to finish and preparing pleadings, motions, statements, and trial briefs.

You will work with clients and claims partners to report on litigation progress and leverage defenses to reach positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Juris doctor degree or Master of Laws (LLM) and a minimum of 2 years general/auto litigation experience.
• Admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Handle cases from beginning to end, including preparing pleadings, motions, statements and trial briefs.
• Negotiate settlements and coordinate with clients and claims partners to report on litigation progress.
• Analyze discovery materials, depositions and medical records to assess risk exposure.
