Are you passionate about making a difference for students with unique learning needs? The Lebanon School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autistic Support Teacher to join our supportive team. In this role, you will closely work with students who benefit from individualized instruction, supporting them as they reach their full potential within an inclusive and positive environment.

What you'll do
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to each student's unique needs, utilizing research-based strategies and materials to maximize learning outcomes.
  • Develop and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Evaluation Reports (ERs) to ensure that every student receives the support they need.
  • Provide instruction and assistance in academic, social, and behavioral skills—both in one‑on‑one settings and small groups—to foster student growth.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow educators, support staff, families, and specialists to cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning community.
  • Maintain clear records of each student’s progress and communicate updates with parents and guardians.
  • Use data to inform and continuously improve your teaching practices.
  • Encourage student participation in school activities by supervising and supporting them both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Participate in curriculum development and pursue professional growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to a respectful and positive atmosphere for all students.
What you need
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education certification in the field of Special Education.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting students with special needs, especially those on the autism spectrum.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and a willingness to learn from others.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional growth and maintaining high teaching standards.
