Salary

Qualifications
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in special education or related field; master’s preferred.
  • Valid current Pennsylvania Special Education certification.
  • Experience with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred.
  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), functional communication, structured teaching, and data-based instructional practices preferred.
  • Experience or willingness to be trained in evidence‑based autism instructional practices (STAR, DTT, NET, PRT, functional routines, FCT, visual supports).
  • Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems preferred.
  • Clear criminal history and child‑abuse clearances required.
  • Ability to perform essential job duties with or without accommodations.
  • Will perform additional duties as determined suitable by Board or Superintendent.
Performance Responsibilities

Through knowledge of special education, autism‑specific instructional practices, and student‑centered planning, the Teacher develops instructional plans to meet individualized student needs and promote measurable growth.

  • Demonstrates in‑depth knowledge of state standards, special education regulations, and evidence‑based practices.
  • Reviews student records, IEPs, behavior plans, and related service recommendations to guide instruction and supports.
  • Develops individualized instructional plans aligned with IEP goals and student needs.
  • Prepares structured lessons using ABA‑based practices such as DTT, NET, PRT, FCT, and functional routines.
  • Designs and implements assessments and data systems aligned with student learning and IEP goals.
  • Prepares instructional activities using evidence‑based methods like STAR, DTT, NET, PRT, functional routines, task analysis, and systematic prompting and fading.
  • Collaborates with colleagues, families, related service providers, paraprofessionals, behavior support personnel, and community members to design effective instruction and supports.
