Job summary

Fairview Park City Schools is seeking an Educational Aide at Gilles-Sweet Elementary. The position is 7 hours per day, five days per week, on a 186-workday schedule. Start date is immediately; available ASAP.

Requirements include a High School diploma and an Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education. Candidates should have experience with students with disabilities, autism, and de-escalation training, plus a strong attendance record.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Educational Aide Permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education.
  • Friendly and polite demeanor.
  • Ability to work with staff, students and parents as a team.
  • Evidence of exceptional attendance and work record.
  • Experience with students with low-incidence disabilities and emotional disturbances.
  • Familiarity with techniques for students with Autism.
  • De-escalation and physical restraint training.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain written instructional and behavioral anecdotal records.
  • Communicate with instructional staff regarding performance/behavior and parental concerns.
  • Implement instructional/behavioral programs as developed by specialists and teachers.
  • Facilitate student academic/behavioral performance in class.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal and instructional staff.
