Job summary

CASE Collaborative in Concord, MA is seeking a Teaching Assistant/Paraprofessional for the Empower program, serving students with Autism and developmental disabilities. This 10-month position (182 days; 180 student days; 2 professional development days) offers hands-on support within a dedicated team.

Starting immediately, the TA will provide academic support, supervise classrooms, and assist with behavior plans under the guidance of a Special Educator.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support and direct instruction to students in one-to-one and small groups to meet IEP goals/objectives.
• Assist teacher to implement appropriate curriculum, lessons, alternate assessments and modifications for children with special needs.
• Provide supervision of the classrooms during times in which the special educator is required to be elsewhere in the building.
• Implement appropriate behavior management techniques and/or behavior support plans during individual and small group instruction and when supporting students in general education settings.
• Attend planning meetings and trainings as requested by the Program Administrator.
• Adapt curriculum materials to meet individual student needs and IEP goals/objectives.
• Monitor and facilitate student participation in CASE classroom, general education classroom activities, and peer interactions.
• Consult with teachers and therapists on designated students to discuss progress and support goals.
• Maintain knowledge of current IEPs for assigned students.
• Maintain and use adaptive equipment and materials.
• Supervise students with disabilities outside regular class times and during transitions.
• Communicate with parents as instructed by the supervising teacher.
• Provide students with disabilities necessary supports to foster independence.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Administrator.
