Job summary

Red Clay Consolidated School District seeks an Autism Support Teacher for the Middle School to design, implement, and monitor instructional programs for students meeting eligibility.

The role requires Delaware certification in Autism & Severe Disabilities or eligibility, with experience in ABA-based instruction and collaboration with IEP teams. This is a full-time, classroom-based position in a middle school setting under the District Autism Services umbrella.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold Delaware certification for Teachers of Students with Autism and Severe Disabilities or be eligible.
• Experience teaching students with Autism and Severe Disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and evidence-based practices helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management for assigned students.
• Design and deliver differentiated instruction based on ABA and other evidence-based practices.
• Ensure access to the school environment for students.
• Collaborate with IEP team and school staff.
• Monitor and support para-educators working with students.
• Meet with families and maintain confidentiality.
• Keep accurate district/state required records.
• Collect and interpret data on student learning and progress.
• Administer assessments per state law.
• Implement Positive Behavior Support practices.
• Develop and implement Standards Based IEPs.
• Implement Behavior Support Plans and respond to crises as needed.
• Participate in IEP Meetings.
