Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services in Topeka, KS seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with intensive needs, including Autism. You will develop and implement IEPs, track progress, and coordinate with staff and families to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities include creating engaging lesson plans, participating in IEP meetings, and using individualized reinforcement to promote growth while maintaining a safe, productive classroom.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working with K-12 children.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute IEPs for each student in your care.
  • Communicate progress and struggles with staff and families.
  • Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit them for approval.
  • Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school.
  • Use individualized reinforcement techniques to keep each student on the path toward greatness.
  • Invite family members to participate in each student's educational progress.
  • Create and distribute progress reports quarterly.
  • Confer with on-site therapist over disciplinary and behavioral issues with students.
  • Create a safe, productive classroom environment.
