Job summary

Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 is seeking a Paraprofessional (Teacher Assistant) for Chipperfield Elementary School in Stroudsburg, PA. You will support students with special needs, assist teachers with instructional activities, and help implement individualized education plans in a positive, safe environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and may qualify via IU20 assessment; options exist for those with some college credits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with passing IU20 assessment to become highly qualified.
• If you do not have two years of college, you may become highly qualified by taking our local assessment.
• Assessments may be scheduled by calling the Office of the Director of Special Education.

Responsibilities

• Plan and assist with special activities and events to engage students.
• Collaborate with the teacher to achieve curriculum objectives and goals.
• Help develop individualized learning activities that promote student development in a safe environment.
• Maintain student and classroom records with attention to detail and accuracy.
