Job summary

Jackson Elementary in Jonesboro, part of Clayton County Public Schools, seeks a Paraprofessional - Special Ed-Autism to support students on the autism spectrum under supervision of a teacher. Responsibilities include small group and one-on-one activities, materials prep, classroom assistance, and light duties such as supervision and record-keeping; lifting up to 50 lbs may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in any subject (GaPSC-accepted).
• Two years of college coursework (60 sem hours / 90 quarter hours) with grade C or better.
• GACE Paraprofessional Assessment and a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to selected students in resource, self-contained, and regular classrooms.
• Conduct small group or individual activities based on teacher lesson plans.
• Assist with preparation of instructional materials and classroom setup.
• Perform duties for students with special needs, including basic mobility and behavior management when required.
• Assist with routine record keeping and school-wide supervision tasks.
