Job summary

Marshall Elementary in Morrow, GA is seeking a Paraprofessional - Special Ed-Autism to support exceptional education students, including those on the autism spectrum, under supervision of a classroom teacher.

Responsibilities include small group or one-on-one instruction, materials preparation, and assisting with daily classroom operations. Candidates must meet GaPSC education requirements and be eligible for a Paraprofessional License. Salary range is $23,910 to $33,252.

Qualifications

• Hold an associate’s degree or higher in any subject from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution.
• Two years of college coursework (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) above remedial level with grade of C or better.
• Passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment and hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to selected students in resource, self-contained, and regular classroom settings.
• Conducts small group or individual classroom activities with students based on lesson plans developed by the teacher.
• Assists with preparation of materials for instruction (copying/duplicating materials, bulletin boards, grading work).
• Performs duties for meeting needs of specific student populations, e.g., lifting disabled students, toileting/personal hygiene assistance, behavior management techniques.
• Assist with routine record keeping, housekeeping; assist with school-wide supervision such as loading/unloading buses.
