Job summary

LOVEJOY HIGH in Hampton, GA seeks a Paraprofessional to support special education students, including those on the autism spectrum, under supervision of the classroom teacher.

Responsibilities include small group/1:1 activities, material prep, and assisting with student safety and behavior management; light record keeping and supervision.

Applicants must meet GA PSC requirements (associate degree or two years college, or GACE paraprofessional) and obtain the Paraprofessional license upon hire.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional experience with school-age children desirable.
• Bilingual or bicultural experience may be required for some positions.
• Must hold or be eligible for GaPSC Paraprofessional License; certification process will be completed upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to selected students in resource, self-contained, and regular classrooms.
• Lead small groups or individual activities based on teacher lesson plans.
• Assist with preparation of instructional materials and routine record keeping / supervision.
• Assist with safety and behavior management needs, including assistive techniques and light lifting as required.
