Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be willing to obtain Autism Mentor certification within two years.
• Meet WV qualifications for paraprofessional and pass background check.
• Ability to facilitate instruction and supervise students under a professional educator.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with planning, preparation and distribution of classroom materials.
• Conduct learning games with students according to procedures.
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction to reinforce taught skills.
• Supervise students on buses and in classroom, cafeteria, bus area.
• Attend in-services and workshops as directed.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

36 semester hours related to paraprofessional work
