Job summary

BlazerJobs, Inc. is seeking a dedicated SPED teacher to support early childhood and elementary students with autism in Emporia, KS. This onsite, full-time contract runs through May 2027 and emphasizes collaborative planning, IEP development, and inclusive classroom practices.

The ideal candidate holds a Kansas SPED license, brings experience with intensive skills caseloads, and can design tailored instructional strategies while communicating effectively with students, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Current Kansas Special Education (SPED) teaching license (required)
• Previous experience with early childhood and/or elementary intensive skills caseloads preferred
• Strong knowledge of best practices in special education methodologies, particularly with students on the autism spectrum
• Effective communication skills for engaging with students, families, and fellow educators
• Ability to create tailored instructional strategies to address individual learning needs

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students within early childhood and elementary autism-focused classrooms
• Develop, implement, and regularly evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate closely with other educators, support staff, and families to foster student growth
• Participate in school and team meetings, providing insight into student performance and progress
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation of student outcomes and instructional plans
• Promote a classroom atmosphere that supports behavioral, academic, and social development
