Job summary

Shema Kolainu – Hear Our Voices seeks a dedicated Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) to serve students with ASD in Bronx & Queens. You will develop IEPs, provide direct instruction, and coordinate with families, teachers, and therapists to create a cohesive support plan across settings.

The role requires a Master’s in Special Education, certification, and at least two years of relevant experience. This position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities with flexible locations and

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Certified in Special Education.
• Two years of experience with autism spectrum disorders.
• Strong communication, organization and time management.
• Ability to collaborate with families, teachers and therapists.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized educational plans for children with ASD and related developmental disabilities.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students in schools, homes, and community-based locations.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and therapists to ensure comprehensive support for students.
• Conduct initial assessments, progress monitoring, and evaluations to inform planning and progress.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in autism education and related therapies.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
