Job summary

The Creekside School in San Jose, CA is hiring compassionate Autism Paraprofessionals to support students with autism and developmental disabilities within a specialized educational program.

You will work with Teachers, Behavior Specialists, BCBAs, SLPs, and families to reinforce learning, build independence, and promote inclusion in a person-centered setting. The position offers hourly compensation and paid training in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Compassionate, dependable, and committed to supporting students with autism.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain patient, flexible, and professional in a dynamic educational environment.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, lifting, and supporting students throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in implementing IEPs and BIPs.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students with autism and extensive support needs.
• Encourage communication, social interaction, independence, and positive behavior.
• Assist with academic, behavioral, recreational, vocational, and daily living activities.
• Help create a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment.
• Collect behavioral and academic data as directed.
• Collaborate with Teachers, Behavior Specialists, BCBAs, SLPs, OTs, and families to support student success.
• Support students during classroom instruction, community-based instruction, and transitions.
