Job summary

Lifeworks is a nonprofit organization in Ohio that supports adults with autism through residential, vocational, and educational services. The Autism & Mental Health Technician role involves working in homes, vocational settings, and communities to positively impact adults with autism.

Paid training, mentorship, flexible hours, and supervision hours for BCBA/BCaBA candidates are available; opportunities for clinical experience with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, ABA, Special Education or related field preferred; High School Diploma required.
• Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and abilities; ability to work with diverse groups.
• Must have initiative and independent judgment.
• Must be at least 20 years old to apply.
• Experience with individuals with ASD adults and their families preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide managed care, support and training for consumers in vocation and daily living skills.
• Promote safety and well-being while respecting each individual’s choices, needs and rights.
• Plan and organize daily activities to optimize programming.
• Aid in modeling socially acceptable alternatives to negative and destructive behavior.
• Protect consumers from physical and emotional harm and handle emergencies.
• Role model pro-social, mediation and self-management skills.

The salary range for this position is $18 - $19 per hour based on relevant education, experience, and licensure. (High school diploma is $18 and associate's degree or higher is $19)

Qualifications:

• Aid in the management and modeling of socially acceptable alternatives to negative and destructive behavior.
• Protect consumers from physical and emotional harm emanating from themselves, others or the environment.
• Properly handle emergencies such as injuries and acting-out situations.
• Role model pro-social, mediation and self-management skills.
