Job summary

Lifeworks is currently hiring a 3rd shift Autism & Mental Health Technician to support adults with autism in homes, vocational settings, and communities. You will gain immersive clinical experience while addressing neurodevelopmental and mental health needs alongside a professional team.

We offer paid training, mentorship and opportunities to advance your career in healthcare, psychology or related fields, with supervision hours for BCBA/BCaBA candidates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level or higher in psychology, ABA, special education or related field preferred; HS diploma required.
  • Ability to relate with diverse groups and backgrounds with tact and empathy.
  • Ability to work with initiative and exercise independent judgment.
  • Experience with individuals with ASD adults and families is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care, support and training in vocation, daily living skills and community integration.
  • Ensure safety and promote independence while respecting rights and choices.
  • Plan daily activities to optimize programming for consumers.
  • Model pro-social, mediation and self-management skills.
  • Handle emergencies and protect consumers from harm.

The starting salary for this position is$19 per hour.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education or related field preferred. High School Diploma required.

  • Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes and abilities.

  • Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment

  • Must be at least 20years old in order to apply

  • Experience working with individuals with ASD adults and their families preferred. Experience in the realm of vocational training preferred.


Shift Availability:

This is a 3rd shift position. Schedule options are 10pm-6am and 9pm-7am. We have part-time, full-time, and weekend schedules available.

Position Summary:

Lifeworks is currently hiring a 3rd shift Autism & Mental Health Technician to be a part of our growing and dynamic team! As the Autism & Mental Health Technician, you will work in homes, vocational settings, and broader communities to positively impact the lives of adults with Autism. At Lifeworks, you will gain an immersive clinical experience working alongside professionals who strive daily to address the neurodevelopmental and mental health symptoms of service recipients.

Responsibilities Include:


  • Provide managed care, support and training for consumers in the areas of vocation, functional daily living skills, community integration, communication, social skills and general wellness.

  • Assure the safety and well-being of each individual while promoting independence and respecting each individual’s choices, needs and rights.

  • Plan and organize daily activities to optimize programming for consumers.

  • Aid in the management and modeling of socially acceptable alternatives to negative and destructive behavior.

  • Protect consumers from physical and emotional harm emanating from themselves, others or the environment.

  • Properly handle emergencies such as injuries and acting-out situations.

  • Role model pro-social, mediation and self-management skills.
