Job summary

Keystone Human Services is seeking a dedicated Job Developer to provide person-directed employment support for individuals in the autism area. You will assess interests and needs, develop personalized employment plans, and coach participants toward meaningful work in the community.

You will collaborate with families, employers, and staff to achieve employment goals and ensure successful transitions, with on-site training and ongoing support.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and a valid driver’s license.
  • ACRE certification or equivalent within 6 months of employment.
  • Ability to obtain clearances and pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes inclusive, competitive employment opportunities for individuals across diverse abilities and backgrounds.
  • Meets with individuals to identify job interests, strengths, and long‑term goals, creating personalized employment plans.
  • Conducts skill assessments to determine ideal job matches and workplace conditions.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with employers and community organizations.
  • Provides employers with information and resources about hiring individuals with disabilities.
  • Assists with job development and negotiation to support placement and retention.
  • Works with individuals to set employment goals and build skills for independence.
  • Provides on-site job training, coaching, and ongoing support in the workplace.
  • Mentors and coaches staff supporting individuals at job sites.
  • Supports reliable transportation arrangements to ensure access to work.
  • Establishes natural workplace supports and long-term job relationships.
  • Maintains timely communication with employers, participants, families, staff, and management.

Job description

Keystone Human Services is currently seeking a Job Developer to join our team in providing individualized, person-directed support in the area of Autism. Our work focuses on inclusion and building communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and fully participate in everything society has to offer.

The Job Developer provides personalized employment services to support individuals in preparing for, securing, and maintaining meaningful work. This role includes assessing each participant’s interests, skills, and support needs. The Job Developer collaborates closely with team members, participants, and their families to create employment plans that align with each person’s goals.

Through ongoing coaching and problem‑solving, the Job Developer helps participants achieve and sustain their employment objectives.

The Job Developer is a full-time, non-exempt position that earns $24 per hour. Keystone Human Services values health, wellbeing, and professional growth. Responsibilities Include:

  • Builds, cultivates, and maintains strong working relationships with local employers, businesses, and community organizations
  • Provides employers with information, training, and resources to address concerns and highlight the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities
  • Assists with job development and negotiation, helping resolve issues during hiring, onboarding, and post‑placement to support job retention and satisfaction
  • Works collaboratively with individuals to set employment goals, develop work strategies, and build skills that promote independence, responsibility, and autonomy
  • Provides on‑site job training, coaching, and ongoing support to help individuals learn job duties and integrate successfully into the workplace
  • Mentors, coaches, and collaborates with other staff supporting individuals at job sites to ensure consistent and effective service delivery
  • Supports individuals in arranging reliable transportation options to ensure consistent access to work
  • Establishes natural workplace supports to encourage independence and foster positive, long‑term job relationships
  • Maintains timely, clear, and consistent communication with employers, participants, families, staff, and management
Minimum Requirements:
  • One of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation, Business, Marketing, Education, Psychology, or a related field
    • Associate’s degree and one year of work experience related to job assessment, job finding, or employment supports
    • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of work experience related to job assessment, job finding, or employment supports
  • Ability to obtain Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) certification or equivalent within 6 months of employment
  • Effective communication and proficient computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license with daily access to a privately maintained and insured vehicle
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment process, including clearances and verifications
