Job summary

Arizona Autism Charter Schools, Inc. is seeking a Student Vocational Coach for the Phoenix Main Campus to provide one-on-one internship support to students, helping them develop vocational skills, resumes, job interview readiness, and workplace communication.

You will collaborate with campus leaders, teachers, and parents to tailor activities, track progress, and foster independence. The ideal candidate has ABA training, experience with students with autism, and a passion for enabling

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities
• Enrolled in or completed a program for Education, OR Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
• Mastery and enthusiasm for best practices in autism education and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
• Track record of success in behavior management with students with autism or other special needs
• Ability to communicate with parents, co-workers, and professional contacts courteously and professionally, and follow AZACS guidelines
• Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to exercise reasonable judgment and maintain confidentiality
• Experience in structured teaching, center-based model preferred
• Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
• First Aid/CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained throughout employment
• Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Responsibilities

• Develop and formalize student vocational duties within the internship program to support the assigned campus
• Engage in one-on-one contact with students on campus to support daily and weekly vocational duties
• Provide one-on-one individualized support to the students to assist them in the development of vocational/employment skills (resume writing, job interviews, application completion, etc.).
• Work closely with Campus Directors and staff to help them understand the value of the support the AZACS student internships provide.
• Collect data regarding student performance.
• Assisting students in discovering and overcoming their personal barriers and setting goals
• Developing effective job coaching and employment plans
• Communicating with students to understand their goals and ambitions
• Train students on interpersonal skills
• Serve to support behaviors on a day-to-day basis in the community as well as on campus
• Regular and predictable attendance is considered an essential requirement of your position.
