Job summary

Giant Steps Illinois is hiring a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist responsible for providing comprehensive speech therapy and language development services for students with autism spectrum disorders. The ideal candidate will collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, support the facilitation and implementation of AAC devices, and engage with parents to maximize student support.

Successful candidates should possess a Master's degree in Speech Pathology along with the required certifications and licensure, and demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology; appropriate certification in speech therapy; state licensure required.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Familiarity with relevant diagnostic tools and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assessment of students as related to speech, language, and communication.
  • Provide treatment, including program planning, ongoing evaluation, consultation and education to the family and student.
  • Supervise clinical students from university programs as needed.

Skills

Ability to effectively interpret and communicate assessment results
Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders
Ability to treat students with autism spectrum disorders
Strong written and communication skills
Strong organizational skills
