Gersh Autism’s Academy for Young Minds (AYM), powered by Gersh, seeks an experienced School Principal to join the Long Island City campus. You will shape academic programs and lead a multidisciplinary team delivering highly individualized instruction and support services.

The role emphasizes data‑driven leadership, a safe and inclusive environment, and collaboration with families and external professionals to support student success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Education or related field.
• Valid New York State School Building Leader certification (or ability to obtain).
• 3–5 years of leadership experience in education.
• 3 years experience with students with specialized learning needs.
• Strong knowledge of special education practices and data‑driven instruction.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership in developing and executing school‑wide goals, systems and procedures.
• Oversee instructional programs aligned with best practices and student‑centered methodologies.
• Use data analysis to monitor progress and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and school operations.
• Recruit, develop and retain high‑performing staff with ongoing coaching.
