Martin Luther School in Plymouth Meeting, PA is launching a new autism-focused program and seeks a dedicated Personal Care Assistant to support students with autism. You will help with academic, social-emotional, and personal-care needs, under the guidance of teachers and the Student Advisor, fostering a nurturing, inclusive classroom.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, positive behavior support, and safety, with mentorship and opportunities for professional growth toward teacher

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Training in Safe Crisis Management (SCM), trauma-informed practices, Positive Behavior Support, or restorative approaches is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to meet the student’s individual needs as outlined in the IEP or support plan.
• Support personal care tasks such as hygiene, toileting, clothing management, mobility, and feeding as required.
• Assist the student in organizing materials, participating in lessons, and navigating the school day.
• Reinforce academic, social, and behavioral goals under the direction of the teacher.
• Maintain consistent routines that build independence and confidence.
