Job summary

Anderson Center for Autism in Hudson Valley, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help individuals with autism live more fulfilling, productive lives. You will create a safe, nurturing environment and support daily activities, including personal care, meals, and recreational experiences.

No experience is required; we provide comprehensive training and clear career tracks. Applicants must be 21+, hold a HS diploma or GED, and have a valid NYS driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED completed.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid NYS Driver's License with agency driving privileges.
• Pass background checks and meet all employment requirements.
• Ability to initiate crisis intervention if needed.
• Willingness to participate in agency trainings.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, nurturing environment and support individuals with autism in daily activities.
• Promote belonging, autonomy, and socialization.
• Assist with educational, physical, social, and emotional needs and document progress.
• Implement individualized plans and behavior strategies under supervision.
• Maintain accurate progress records and incident documentation.
• Help participants develop social, daily living, and self-advocacy skills.
• Contribute to enriching lives of those in care daily.
