New Horizons in Autism, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals for our Day Program. You will help adults with autism learn, grow, and participate in meaningful activities, providing direct care, supervision, and transportation as needed.

The role emphasizes hands-on support, documentation, and collaboration with a professional team. We offer extensive paid training, a weekday schedule, and opportunities for growth within a nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher degree.
• Be at least 20 years of age.
• New Jersey driver's license.
• Complete pre-employment screenings: Central Registry, CARI, DMV, drug screening, physical, PPD.
• Ability to interact effectively with individuals with autism.
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
• Excellent communication, both verbally and in writing.
• Professional, respectful, and positive approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, support, and supervision to adults with autism.
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Support medication management.
• Assist with behavior management and implement support strategies.
• Teach life skills and independence.
• Provide structure, guidance, and encouragement throughout the day.
• Facilitate participation in recreational, educational, vocational, and community activities.
• Provide transportation and assist with community outings.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Promote positive relationships and meaningful engagement.
• Collaborate with team to deliver high-quality care.
