Job summary

Positive Development is seeking a Part-Time Child Development Specialist to work onsite in Piscataway, NJ. You will coach children one-on-one in home or center settings, building communication, social, and daily living skills through play and guided interactions.

Compensation includes Direct Pay of $22–$28 per hour and Training Pay at $20 per hour. Ideal candidates balance flexibility with reliability, and are passionate about growth in psychology, education, and related fields.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (must be 18+)
• Valid driver’s license + reliable transportation (30–40 min drive radius)
• Ability to perform physical tasks: playing on floor for up to two-three hours, lifting up to 40 lbs, and moving quickly for child safety

Responsibilities

• Build communication, social, and daily living skills with children in homes or center-based settings
• Create meaningful connections that help children think, create, and engage with the world
• Follow a relationship-based intervention model to achieve outcomes with shorter sessions
• Document session notes and progress toward goals; collaborate with clinicians and supervisors
