Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; must pass or be exempted from GACE Basic Skills Test and GACE Special Education Content Test or Adaptive Content test
• Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate required
• Experience: None
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds and two-person lifts
• Knowledge of disability areas and special education practices; data-driven instruction; collaboration with families and general education staff

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Develops and monitors the IEP for each student on the caseload; annual review.
• Works with parents/guardians regarding the student's educational program.
• Maintains accurate paperwork within designated timelines.
• Collaborates with general education teachers to maximize student achievement.
• Delivers instruction with specialized strategies aligned to IEP goals.
• Implements data-driven behavior management plans (FBAs/BIPs).
• Uses assessments to report progress to parents/guardians regularly.
