Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience with Autism and positive behavior support practices.
• Willing to participate in staff training in relevant areas.
• Physically able to restrain students for safety reasons if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students with behavioral needs or intense Autism needs.
• Evaluate student needs and provide interventions to redirect behavior.
• Implement evidence based behavioral and Autism strategies designed to make positive and appropriate changes.
• Assess crisis situations and defuse situations using de-escalation and crisis management techniques.
• Reinforce appropriate behaviors and redirect negative behavior.
• Support the Social Emotional needs of the students.
• Training on skills that would allow students to access education in their least restrictive environment.
• Daily data collection.
• Collaborate with staff to meet student-specific goals.
