Job summary

Sorin Medical in Galax, Virginia is seeking an Authorization Specialist to join our in-person team. You will complete authorizations and referrals, review patient histories, and verify insurance coverage to move procedures forward.

Experience in medical billing or insurance authorization is preferred; a high school diploma is required, an associate degree is a plus, and you must be able to multitask while using medical terminology.

Sorin Medical, the largest and fastest growing Cardiology practice in NYC,. is looking for an Authorization Specialist to join our medical office staff in our Galax, Virginia location.

In this role, you would be responsible for completing authorizations and referrals for our medical services. In addition to reviewing the medical history of potential patients, you will verify information provided by their referring physicians and their insurance coverage. You will also monitor the schedule for our add-on patients, ensuring there are no conflicts and we have the prior authorization we need to move forward with their appointment or procedure.

While we prefer candidates who have an associate degree in medical coding or a related field, we will consider those with only experience in medical billing or insurance authorization.

Authorization Specialist Duties And Responsibilities

• Complete authorizations and referrals for services, including appointments and procedures
• Review patient's medical history and insurance coverage for approval
