Job summary

TrueNorth Wellness Services is seeking an Authorization Specialist for the Functional Family Therapy program in a part-time, split-office role. Primary office location in Hanover, PA, with presence in York, Gettysburg, and Harrisburg.

Monday–Friday, no weekends or holidays; pay starts at $14.28/hour and increases with experience. Responsibilities include verifying insurance benefits, setting up electronic medical records for new clients, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Prior health insurance, medical records, or medical billing experience preferred.
• Clearances: PA Child Abuse History Certificate, PA State Police, FBI Fingerprint and Mandated Reporting Training.
• Proficiency with Word, Outlook, and the internet.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to clients/families.
• Obtain, verify, and review insurance benefit information.
• Ensure program compliance with state regulations.
• Set up electronic medical records for new clients.
• Prioritize tasks independently and work as a team member across locations and partners.

Job Duties:

• Provide excellent customer service to clients/families and build rapport.
• The ability to obtain, verify, and review accurate insurance benefit information with clients.
• Ensuring the program is complying with state regulations.
• Ability to set up electronic medical record for new clients.
• Be proactive and prioritize work tasks independently.
• Function effectively as a team member which includes multiple locations as well as external organizations and insurance companies.
• Ability to problem solve and to demonstrate proficiency in computer skills.

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior experience with health insurance companies, medical record systems, medical billing and coding is preferred.
• Required clearances and training: PA Child Abuse History Certificate, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprint Check and Mandated Reporting Training. If applicants don't already have these clearances, the agency can provide instructions on how to apply for them.
• Proficiency with Word, Outlook, and the internet.
• Applicants must have reliable transportation.
