Job summary

Allcare Home Health in Glendale, CA seeks an Authorization Monitoring and Tracking Specialist to manage payer authorizations and coordinate with care teams to ensure timely approvals and uninterrupted patient care.

The role requires experience in home health or hospice, strong knowledge of payer portals, and proficiency with Excel and EMR/back office systems. Attention to detail and multitasking in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to manage multiple authorizations and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and visit requests daily and log into the Authorization Tracker.
• Monitor payer portals (e.g., Kaiser, Carelon, other insurance) and follow up within 48 hours.
• Notify care coordinators on approvals/denials with dates, visit counts, and conditions.
• Enter approvals into the back-office/EMR and attach letters/screenshots for billing/scheduling visibility.
• Flag expiring authorizations 7–10 days out and prepare weekly summaries for leadership.
• Escalate after 5 business days without response or for repeated denials/urgent cases.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready records (letters, emails, date-stamped trackers).
