Job summary

VNS Health is seeking an Authorization Specialist to support member services and care delivery. You will create and modify authorizations and orders for new and current Members with accuracy and timeliness, researching and resolving processing issues as they arise.

Collaborating with Providers, Care Management, Membership and Eligibility, and internal teams, you will ensure efficient service delivery, handle calls, faxes, and emails, and contribute to a patient-centered, compliant work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of customer service experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced PC skills: Word, Excel, or Access.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify member authorizations and orders accurately and promptly.
• Resolve authorization/order processing issues.
• Handle inbound/outbound calls, faxes, and emails.
• Coordinate with providers and members on requests.
• Communicate with Care Management and other departments about services and issues.

What You Will Do

• Creates and modifies authorizations and/or orders for new and existing Members in an accurate and timely manner
• Researches, troubleshoots, resolves authorization and/or order processing issues and discrepancies
• Completes activities, including but not limited to, inbound/outbound calls, as assigned, faxes and emails
• Coordinates with Providers and Members regarding authorization requests and/or activities
• Communicates with Care Management, Member Services, Membership and Eligibility and other internal departments regarding Member services, authorization requests and issues

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Work Experience:

• Minimum of two years of experience in a customer service role required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required
• Advanced personal computer skills, including Word, Excel or Access required
• Utilization Management experience preferred

Pay Range

USD $20.98 - USD $26.23 /Hr.
