Job summary

Personal Touch Home Care of Virginia Inc in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an Insurance Authorization Coordinator to obtain initial and ongoing authorizations for home health care services. This in-person role supports patients and staff in a non-remote environment.

Qualifications

• Medical office or home health care experience preferred.
• Experience with insurance authorizations.
• Customer service oriented, detail oriented and an above-average communicator.

• Able to read, write and maintain records in English.

Responsibilities

• Obtain initial insurance authorization on new referrals requiring pre-authorization.
• Develop rapport with staff, payor representatives and community resources.
• Support home health care and hospice services through authorization processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Intake Services or Billing Manager.

We are seeking a Full-Time Insurance Authorization Coordinator in our Chesapeake office to obtain insurance authorizations for Home Health Care services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Medical office and or home health care experience (preferred)

• Insurance authorizations experience

• Must be customer service oriented, detail oriented and an above average communicator

• Must be organized and be able to multi-task

• Must be able to read, write and maintain records in English

JOB SUMMARY:

The Insurance Authorization Coordinator is responsible for obtaining the initial and continuing authorizations. This position ensures all patient services are verified and authorized.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but not limited to):

• Obtain initial insurance authorization on all new referrals that require pre-authorization

• Develop a positive rapport with staff members, payor representatives and community resources

• Involved in the provision or receipt of home care and hospice services

• Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Intake Services or Billing Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Pay:$20.00 per hour

Experience:

• Insurance verification: 1 year (Preferred)
• Medical billing: 1 year (Preferred)
