City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA is seeking a dedicated member to support Immigrant Affairs and Know Your Rights efforts. You will learn the program, research resources, and help assemble a refugee and immigrant guide, creating simple systems to sustain impact beyond your service term.
The role requires a college graduate with strong communications, writing, and teamwork skills, and offers a full-time schedule in Austin, TX through 01/10/2028.
The City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA Program works with City departments and local nonprofits to build capacity, in order to provide resources and services to the Austin neighborhoods and communities that may otherwise be left behind by Austin's historic disparities and future growth. The AmeriCorps members serving with the City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA Program work in such diverse fields as education, environmental quality, and homeless services to cover the myriad ways poverty affects these neighborhoods and communities.
Learn the Immigrant Affairs program and strengthen the systems that support Know Your Rights programming. Research and organize information for an immigrant and refugee resource guide. Prepare a draft resource guide and simple systems for the work to continue after you complete your service.
