Job summary

CarbonBetter, based in Austin, TX, seeks an Accounting Analyst to support day-to-day accounting operations for our fast-growing sustainability and energy logistics team. You will own AR/AP, GL, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting for stand-alone portfolios, helping scale processes as the company expands.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in accounting, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with GAAP.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in accounting or a closely related field.
• Advanced Excel skills, including lookups and complex formulas.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP concepts and procedures.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Collaborative attitude and eagerness to learn in a team.
• QuickBooks experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting for AR, AP, GL and reconciliations.
• Support month-end close and financial reporting for stand-alone portfolios.
• Reconcile and monitor cash balances and bank activity.
• Prepare, reconcile, and remit weekly sales commissions for partners.
• Investigate discrepancies and improve internal controls.
• Assist with tax reporting and regulatory compliance as needed.
