Chess Wizards is seeking enthusiastic instructors to run after-school chess sessions for elementary students in Austin, TX. You’ll lead engaging classes, follow our structured curriculum, and travel between local schools on weekday afternoons.

This fall program offers flexible hours (1–5 classes per week), mileage reimbursement for travel, full training, and ongoing support. If you love teaching kids and sharing the magic of chess, join us.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children in educational or recreational settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently with engaging sessions.
• Kinder-friendly, positive demeanor and role model behavior.
• Strong grounding in chess fundamentals and simple tactics explained age-appropriately.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between locations.
• Availability weekday afternoons (2:00–5:00 PM) for 1–5 classes weekly.
• Commitment to school safety protocols and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Lead interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Follow the structured curriculum to teach fundamentals and sportsmanship.
• Maintain a lively, positive classroom environment.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
• Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to engage students.
