Job summary

Chess Wizards in Bee Cave, TX is hiring enthusiastic Assistant Instructors for after-school enrichment sessions starting in fall. You will support a Chess Instructor, help manage a class of 15-22 elementary students, and bring the fun and magic of chess to kids.

Teach 1–5 classes weekly, typically 2–5 PM, with mileage-based travel reimbursement and full curriculum provided. This role offers hands-on teaching experience, flexible hours, and a welcoming team culture.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or similar is a plus.
• Ability to follow direction and support classroom management.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor.
• Genuine desire to be a positive role model and promote sportsmanship.
• Strong punctuality and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructor in setting up and running a fun chess class for 15-22 students.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to practice piece movements and basics.
• Support activities, keep students engaged, reinforce positive behavior.
• Follow curriculum and promote good sportsmanship with the instructor.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session and arrive prepared.
