Chess Wizards in San Antonio, TX is seeking enthusiastic instructors to lead after-school chess classes for elementary students. You’ll use a structured curriculum to teach fundamentals, promote sportsmanship, and manage a lively classroom in a supportive environment.

Roles offer flexible weekday afternoons (2:00–5:00 PM), with 1–5 classes per week, travel between local schools, and mileage reimbursement. Training is provided, and there is potential for advancement within the program.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar).
• Comfort leading a class independently and creating interactive, friendly, and fun sessions.
• Professional, positive, and kid-friendly demeanor.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain piece movement, basic strategy, and simple tactics to kids.
• Reliable transportation and ability to drive between locations.
• Availability on weekday afternoons 2:00 PM–5:00 PM for 1–5 classes per week.
• Commitment to school safety protocols and reliable, punctual performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
