As a Cake Decorator, you'll apply proper decorating techniques and maintain quality of products by following guidelines. You'll prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product daily, while maintaining all department and food safety/sanitation standards.

Work Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Provide superior customer service
• Take cake orders accurately via phone or in person
• Assist customers with product questions and selections
• Use suggestive selling techniques to meet needs and increase sales

Production

• Apply decorating techniques per visual training aids for quality cakes and pastries
• Write on cakes with icing upon request
• Follow daily production list and ensure quality control
• Ensure cakes reach display at scheduled times

Food Service

• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products
• Slice, package, label, and rotate products
• Record production and shrink for planning

Food Safety

• Maintain sanitation in the work area
• Comply with food safety and sanitation standards
• Follow operational procedures
• Operate and maintain equipment properly

Minimum Background Requirements

• Minimum age 18
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of bakery experience
• Complete company orientation and safety training upon hire
