Job summary

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of New York seeks experienced Assistant United States Attorneys to join the Civil Division's affirmative civil enforcement (ACE) unit in Albany, NY. ACE AUSAs lead federal cases from investigation through appeal, often handling False Claims Act matters involving health care and procurement fraud. Candidates must have a J.D.

degree, active bar admission, and U.S. citizenship, with 1+ year post‑J.D. experience; 3+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active bar member in good standing.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• At least 1 year post‑J.D. legal experience.
• Preferred: 3+ years with strong writing, advocacy and litigation.

Responsibilities

• Lead federal litigation in the ACE unit from investigation through appeal.
• Manage own dockets and appear regularly in federal court.
• Collaborate with federal agencies and DOJ components.
• Handle False Claims Act matters, including qui tam investigations.
• Represent the United States in bankruptcy proceedings when required.
