Capital B Augusta is seeking a part-time Community Engagement Ambassador in Augusta, GA. You will build relationships, engage residents, and gather story ideas to inform localized reporting. This role emphasizes visibility in the community and strengthening our audience beyond traditional outlets.

The ideal candidate knows Augusta, is curious, comfortable striking up conversations, and values civic storytelling. Journalism experience is a plus but not required.

• Should be comfortable starting conversations with new people.
• Journalism experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop sources and learn issues in Augusta.
• Write, shoot video and contribute to Capital B Augusta.
• Share stories online and offline and track feedback.
• Grow the email newsletter subscriber base.
• Deliver the print edition to community spaces across the city.
• Assist with radio broadcasts by contributing content or helping to host.
• Attend meetings with and without the Augusta Editor.
