Job summary

Midwest Mole seeks an experienced Auger Boring Foreman to lead field operations across the Midwest and DC area. You will run auger boring machines, weld with cutting torches, and interpret plans to determine pipe inverts and grades.

You will set up alignments with a transit, shoot grades with level and grade rod, and perform routine maintenance on equipment. Travel and relocation may be required.

Qualifications

• 5 years auger boring experience.
• Able to obtain a CDL physical.
• Valid driver’s license with no major infractions in 3 years.
• Willing to join Operating Engineers union where required.
• Willing to work with the crew as foreman.
• Up to 100% travel; mainly Midwest and DC area; weekends at home.
• Communicate with superiors and customers.
• Trench safety knowledge of safe excavation.
• Proficient in basic construction math: grades, depths, cuts, volumes.
• Daily safety discussions with crew and toolbox talks; document electronically.
• Submit daily progress reports and receipts electronically.
• Work schedule typically 4-10 or 5-8; longer travel may be 6 on 1 off etc.
• Company pays airfare for travel.

• Dig pits with trench boxes safely.
• Lead as foreman, with travel as needed.

Auger Boring Foreman

Summary

• Be able to run auger boring machines up to 72”
• Be able to use cutting torch and weld
• Able to look at set of plans and figure out inverts of pipe and percent of grade
• Set up and shoot alignment with a transit
• Ability to shoot grade with level and grade rod
• Routine maintenance on auger bore equipment
• Ability to operate Large Excavators 70,000 - 110,000 - SAEControls
• Threading of carrier pipe with spacers and wood blocking or rails
• Ability to dig pit with trench boxes safely
• Preferably 2 years foreman experience

Position Requirements

• Able to obtain a CDL physical (to be eligible to drive a company vehicle)
• Valid driver’s license.No major infractions in the last 3 years
• Willing to be a member of the Operating Engineers union in necessary area
• Willing to work beside the crew.Working foreman
• Up to 100% percent travel. Depending on where you live.Most work in the Midwest and Dc area. Home most weekends.Like for you to relocate to the Midwest.
