Job summary

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking an Audit & Onboarding Specialist to coordinate complex documentation, coding and billing reviews, and to serve as a liaison between the Centralized Business Office and clinical departments. The role ensures onboarding of physicians regarding compliance in clinical documentation and coding.

The position requires expertise in ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding, along with strong communication and instructional abilities to support clinicians and staff

Qualifications

• Seven years of progressive multi-specialty professional coding experience
• Must have strong knowledge of ICD, CPT and HCPCS coding systems
• Experience building relationships with clinicians and CBO
• Demonstrates ability to review documentation for compliance and coding accuracy

Responsibilities

• Onboards new clinical practitioners, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, to ensure documentation and coding accuracy for all services
• Reviews coding accuracy and provides results to coding supervisor(s)
• Provides ongoing documentation, coding, and billing education to employees as needed
• Collaborates with the CBO to communicate audit results and deliver a list of exceptions needing corrective action
