Job description

QUALIFICATION: This position requires the understanding of computerized stage lighting and sound equipment; the ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.

Must have knowledge of the tools, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and operation of stage and auditorium facilities; methods, materials and equipment used in custodial work; the requirements and standards for maintaining buildings and auditorium facilities in a safe, clean and orderly condition; proper operation and routine maintenance of standard stage and auditorium equipment; assists teachers and others with stage settings, lighting, sound systems, stage props and other equipment; attend rehearsals and programs to supervise and perform stage duties as required; may supervise, direct and oversee students in the use and operation of stage equipment and facilities.

Must possess the ability to make routine repairs and adjustments to sound and stage; use cleaning materials and equipment effectively; understand and follow both oral and written instructions; read and write at a level necessary to successfully perform assigned duties; perform mathematical calculations accurately; establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.

Some experience in the maintenance, operation and use of auditorium facilities and stage equipment is desirable.

A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK AND A PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL ASSESSMENT WILL BE REQUIRED OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.

DUTIES OF POSITION: To maintain and assist in the operation of a school auditorium or other auditorium or other building with stage facilities and to maintain stage and sound equipment used in auditorium operations and activities. Employees in this classification receive general supervision from a school site administrator of his/her designate within a framework of standard policies and procedures. This position exercises responsibility for the cleaning and upkeep of assigned auditorium facilities and assists in the operation and maintenance of auditorium related equipment to include stage lighting and sound equipment.

STARTING SALARY: $3,555.96 (monthly)

NUMBER OF MONTHS: 9.4 (to begin as soon as possible)

NUMBER OF HOURS: 8 (daily working hours 8:00 am to 4:30 pm)
