Job Description

Start date: September 1, 2026

The Auditorium Technical Assistant will report directly to the Auditorium Manager. This position will work on a wide variety of events in the Auditorium, supervise LOHS Theatre students working on productions, and assist with maintenance and upkeep of the Auditorium, including the theater scene shop.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of technical theatre experience
• Ability to pass a background check to work with students
• 18+ years old
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work at heights

Skills/experience (preferred):

• Experience in education, ideally with high school students
• Live audio mixing/stage audio setup (Midas M32 and QLab experience a plus)
• Basic knowledge of theatrical lighting (ETC Ion experience a plus)
• Carpentry experience (scenic carpentry or similar)
• Interest in further mastering skills in Theater Technology/Design

Duties

During events:

• Supervise renters in Auditorium
• Run light board or sound board

LOHS Theatre Productions:

• Work with LOHS students during rehearsals on lighting, sound, set construction, painting, props, costumes, makeup
• Supervise students during shows

Other tasks:

• Assist with auditorium maintenance and upkeep, equipment repairs, and various projects
• Other duties as assigned by district administration and Auditorium Manager

Schedule/Hours

Generally, weekday afternoons during LOHS productions. Will include some evenings/weekends for events, with a flexible schedule at other times. Hours worked within a week will not exceed 20 hours.
